Some of my Favorite Women's Quotes
Monday is such an inspirational day for me. It's a planning day, a day to celebrate new beginnings and to reflect on the week past.
So today I thought I'd share a few of my favorite women's quotes with you.
"I've always known I was gifted, which is not the easiest thing in the world for a person to know, because you're not responsible for your gift, only for what you do with it " Hazel Scott Trinidad-US pianist, singer, writer
"We all need somebody to talk to. It would be good if we talked . . . not just pitter-patter, but real talk. We shouldn't be so afraid, because most people really like this contact; that you show you are vulnerable makes them free to be vulnerable."
Liv Ullmann , Norwegian actress, humanitarian
"It is better to be a lion for a day than a sheep all your life." Elizabeth Kenny (1886-1952) Australian nurse. She developed a therapy for polio victims, 1933.
"I began to have an idea of my life, not as the slow shaping of achievement to fit my preconceived purposes, but as the gradual discovery and growth of a purpose which I did not know." Joanna Field
"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained." Marie Curie (1867-1934) Polish-French chemist.
"I could never tell where inspiration begins and impulse leaves off. I suppose the answer is in the outcome. If your hunch proves a good one, you were inspired; if it proves bad, you are guilty of yielding to thoughtless impulse." Beryl Markham (1902-1986) English aviator.
"A ship in port is safe, but that's not what ships are built for." Grace Murray Hopper (1906-1992) US military leader, mathematician, educator.
"Truth isn't always beauty, but the hunger for it is." Nadine Gordimer - South African novelist.
"Our task is to strike a balance, to find a middle way, to learn not to overstretch ourselves with extraneous activities and preoccupations, but to simplify our lives more and more. The key to finding a happy balance in modern lives is simplicity." Sogyal Rinpoche
" . . in dreams begins responsibility." Edna O'Brien - Irish novelist
"Just look inside and you will find the answer to any question you may have. You are the mind of creation; create your life with all the answers." Tracy Braime
